Khalid Ayansina popularly known as “Beriola”, was born in Ibadan on the 21st of July 1994.

He is the curator of Beriola Ayanshina cultural entertainment (base). Khalid Ayanshina is into African contemporary and cultural dance, Yoruba bata dance and mostly he chants on people’s lineage with a sonorous ” esa egungun ” voice (oriki ile Yoruba).

Ayanshina is also a cultural dance instructor to schools and has taken part in so many productions and performances.

For Khalid Ayanshina, learning poetry was as a result of his love for Yoruba culture and tradition as he revealed that nobody taught him poetry.

He believes its all about self development, as he is naturally inclined to chanting and dancing according to him.

He does his research on people’s lineage and different Yoruba background.

He attended his primary school education, at His Grace Nursery and Primary school, Oyo Town, in Oyo state.

While he had his secondary school education at Olivet Baptist High school Oyo, before bagging a NCE certificate with specialization in Theatre Arts at the Federal College of Education, in July 2014, while presently studying Performing Arts and Culture at Lead City University, Ibadan.

According to Ayanshina, poetry in Nigeria is not recognized, it’s only being appreciated by the elderly people, majority don’t value it because of their exposure to foreign music and foreign culture, he said.

To Khalid Ayanshina, the most memorable event he won’t forget in a rush, was the day he was awarded as the youngest cultural ambassador in Oyo state, at a program organized by the Federal College of Education, Oyo, as a result of his contributions to embracing Yoruba culture and tradition.

It was a fantastic day at the event, with great personalities in attendance.

Apart from the people that boosted his inspiration like Baba Odolaye Aremu, Jaigbade Alao and the rest, the Nigerian popular entertainer, Asa is his favourite entertainer. He said he loves her songs and her singing style so much.

Khalid Ayanshina said doing poem is very commercial in Nigeria due to it’s exceptionality, as people do demand for it a lot.

He said he has performed at various functions which include, weddings, birthdays, conferences, coronations, funerals, naming ceremonies, television and radio programs, anniversaries e.t.c.

If Khalid Ayanshina has not been a poet, he would have being a footballer, because of his love for the game.
