MEET FAST RISING GHANAIAN ACTRESS, OPHELIA DZIDZORNU
Ophelia Klenam Dzidzornu is a passionate Ghanaian teen actress, model and volunteer based in Accra. She loves reading, drawing and beading.
During a recent interview with NaijaOnlineTV, young Ophelia Dzidzornu revealed that she has been acting since the age of five.
She started out as a stage drama artiste with Fihankra drama group at the Art center in Accra, Ghana. She then moved on to commercials, TV series and films.
According to the fast rising actress, she has had to go through several challenging times to act her role in movies.
She took an instance in the British/Ghanaian movie, “The Cursed Ones”, where she had to cry day and night for almost a month and this she said, as been similar to the roles she play in other movies, except in ” If Tomorrow Never Comes ” and “Like Cotton Twines”, where the duration was absolutely less.
The Cursed Ones
Her first film was ” Deep Affection ” by Pluto Pictures but before then she took part in “Living with Trisha”, a TV series by Ghana based Kairos Production.
Where she acted alongside the former President of Ghana’s son, Edward Agyekum Kuffour which was a great privilege and a memorable experience for the young actress.
Ophelia Dzidzornu, was a member of cast in the multiple award winning British/Ghanaian, United Kingdom based Nana Obiri Yeboah directed movie, ” The Cursed Ones ” alongside Hollywood actors, Jimmy Jean Louis, Oris Erhuero, and others which include David Dontoh, Ama K Abebrese, Fred Amugi and Joseph Otsiman among others.
She says the experience was really great, as she made new friends, visited a new environment and enjoyed an exciting moment working with the cast and crew. Adding that it was the very first time working with most of the cast on the movie set.
Regarding herself as yet to be famous, the young actress informed NaijaOnlineTV, that she became more known for her role in the movie “If Tomorrow Never Comes”, a movie produced by YN Production and directed by Pascal Amanfo.
Ophelia Dzidzornu revealed she has just completed her junior high school (JHS) studies and will be furthering to senior high school (SHS) this academic year.
Though she does not have a preference as to who to work with on location, the actress loves to work with people who value professionalism and do respect what they love doing (acting), for she believes in it and respect the passion she has for her career.
Within the next five years, Dzidzornu hopes to be an international actress and model alongside schooling in the University.
She revealed her favourite Ghanaian entertainer to be Yvonne Nelson, while her favourite International celebrity is Angelina Jolie.
Dzidzornu who was recently nominated at the African Entertainment Legend Award (AELA), as ” Fast Rising Actress ” of the year, believes she has all it takes to win the award.
Coupled with the fact that she has been consistent in her field through hard work, dedication and passion all through the year.
The talented young actress advises young people aspiring to be like her to stay serious and be focused concerning whatever they do and should invest their time and effort into their education and passion.
