Fantasy Premier League (FPL) expert, David Munday, is of the opinion that Arsenal new signing, Nicholas Pepe could be more popular than fellow strikers, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
In a post on Premier League website, Munday said the winger’s underlying stats suggest he can outscore his strike partners this season and even likens him to Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah the top points scorer of the past two campaigns.
“What we have with Pepe is a lot of potential; he could be at the end of the season the No 1 Arsenal asset,” Munday began on the FPL Show.
“His minutes per (shot), he’s having one every 30.8 minutes, which is very close to Aubameyang’s one every 30. And his minutes per chance (created) is every 51 minutes, compared with Aubameyang’s 90.
It’s because he’s a bit like Salah. He’s one of these attacking midfield players, a wide man who can score goals and create goals. And, of course, because he is a midfielder he gets more points for those goals as well.
He can save you £1.6m on Aubameyang, and he’s £0.1m cheaper than Lacazette, so it does present a fantastic opportunity if you’re looking for a bit of a punt at this stage of the season.”
