Coronavirus: Oyo state Discharges 2 COVID-19 Patients, Records 15 New Cases
Oyo State has discharged two of its COVID-19 patients after they recovered from the disease.
On Wednesday night, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 19 new cases of the disease in Oyo.
But in a tweet via his official Twitter handle early Thursday morning, the State Governor, Seyi Makinde, noted that 15 out of the new cases were from iSON Xperiences, a contact centre and customer care outfit. It is based in Ibadan South West Local Government Area, the state capital.
The governor had on Saturday confirmed the first set of cases recorded in the same company. The toll has now climbed to 78.
Makinde, who’s also Chairman of the State Task Force on control of COVID-19, disclosed that while the state has recorded 162 cases of the COVID-19, 48 recovered patients have been discharged so far.
“Two confirmed COVID-19 patients have received their second NEGATIVE test results and have been discharged,” he tweeted.
“This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to forty-eight.
“Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for nineteen suspected cases came back POSITIVE.
“Fifteen are from iSON Xperiences in Ibadan South West LGA, 2 are from Ido LGA and 1 is from Ibadan South East LGA. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State is 162.”
