All is now in top gear as regards Team Nigeria International grassroot sports development initiative in Nigeria tagged LagosShowdown2016, supported by the Federal Ministry for Youth and Sports Development and the Lagos state government respectively.

Part of the event details are as thus, open trials with football scouts in attendance will take place in Owerri and Abuja to help identify talents that will join the team in Lagos ahead of the big games.

To participate in the open trials you can log on to register online at www.teamnigeriauk.com. Registration fee is #2,000 only and participants can pay directly to bank details on the website using their full name and phone number as reference.

Venue of the open trials in Owerri is announced to be Nwankwo Kanu Sports Centre, Behind Imo state University by Bishop’s court after Owerri Sports club, Owerri, Imo state on Wednesday the 20th of July 2016 from 12-2pm.

The management team will proceed afterward to Abuja for the last phase of the open trials at FIFA Goal project, Games Village, Abuja on the 22nd of July, 2016 from 12-2pm.

After which the team moves down to Lagos, for the most anticipated match of the year.

The first big match will see Team Nigeria UK play a friendly match with the Lagos state Under-17 football team, which was helped facilitated by the Lagos state Sports Commissioner Hon. Deji Tinubu. The match will take place on Saturday the 30th of July by 5pm at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

In anticipation of the biggest football match of the year, Team Nigeria UK, wiil also play a friendly match with Mr. Godwin Dudu Orumen’s Cowbell Academy on Wednesday the 27th of July by 5pm at the training pitch of the National stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

These are to serve as part of Team Nigeria International’s yearly inclusion programme between the diaspora and Nigerians back home at grassroots level.

It will definitely be a great sporting moment among football fans in Nigeria and Africa as Team Nigeria UK football team will lace their boot against the Under-20 Flying Eagles of the Nigerian national team side led by Coach Emmanuel Amunike in an international friendly match slated for Monday the 1st of August, 2016 by 5pm at Teslim Balogun stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
