Former Oyo state Governor loses appeal at supreme court
A former governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi, has suffered a defeat at the Court of Appeal in Ibadan after the court dismissed his petition challenging the election of Senator Kola Balogun.
The Tribune reports that the trial judge, Justice Haruna Tsammani, on Friday, November 1, dismissed Ajimobi’s petition for lacking in merit.
The judge affirmed the decision of the Oyo election tribunal which upheld the victory of Senator Kola Balogun of the PDP for Oyo south senatorial district in the February 23 National Assembly election.
