Multi talented Zimbabwean singer and a nominee at the rescheduled, Kora All Africa Music Award 2016, Hope Masike has dropped a new single, titled “Kwira Gomo”.

In a recent interview with NaijaOnlineTV, Hope Masike explained ” Kwira Gomo” to mean “go up the mountain and pray, especially when life gets heavy”. In other words, ” don’t be afraid to face the mountains in your life. Go up the mountain and dominate”. 13382118_302568153407866_1466766351_n

“Kwira Gomo”, according to Hope Masike, is a Shona language and its one of the main two languages in Zimbabwe.

Hope Masike, has decided for the next few months to do some dance music project, taking Zimbabwean traditional drumming patterns and pimping them up into modern dance groove songs.

She has put her ” Mbira” down a bit, focusing on drums and the different patterns from home.

She believe the beautiful Zimbabwean music, has been under exposed in her opinion, thinking some dance music can help elevate the Zimbabwean vibe.

“Kwira Gomo” according to Hope Masike, is produced by a young, hot Zimbabwean DJ/Music Producer, known as St. Emmo of SoSick Records. She calls him a totally gifted fella.

Hope Masike reveals to us, that the visuals to her latest single “Kwira Gomo” will be dropping soon, as she jokingly put it across, that she is going up the mountain to pray about it.

Hope Masike is presently on an European tour and at the moment in Norway to be precise.

A further look into Hope Masike’s background, life and music career by NaijaOnlineTV revealed that she started practising music professionally, while she was studying in Zimbabwe in 2008.

In may 2009, Hope Masike dropped her debut album titled “Hope” and in May 2012, she released her second album called “Mbira, love and chocolate”.

Both albums of Hope Masike were self released to a critical acclaim both locally and internationally.

In addition to her achievements, her song ” The Land” was made the theme song for the international advert for the All Africa Heads of State Summit in 2014.

Her music venture had also seen her participating at several tours and being featured by international artistes across the globe.

Hope Masike had also being a special guest at numerous national functions in Zimbabwe, including at the inauguration of Heads of State.

Hope Masike has shared the stage with several musical artistes and legends such as Zimbabwe’s Mbira Mbuya Stella Chiweshe and Chiwoniso Maraire, Oliver Mtukudzi, Stewart Sukuma, Mafikizolo, Zahara and Zimbabwean United Kingdom based Shingl Shoniwa and the Noisettes.

She had also collaborated with different bands like, The Monkey Nuts and French DJ, Dj Oil, Germany based FAVO, French folk band Coriander, Dutch Dub DJ Chad Lee, Kunzwana, Bokeni Dyer and Saxophonist Muzilla Malembe.

Hope Masike has recorded so much tenable achievements in her music career, winning several awards in Zimbabwe and Overseas.

She has been featured on CNN, BBC, SABC, ZTV and many more at their news rooms and various TV programs. Her educational background reveals, she hold a National Certificate in Applied Art and Design, a Diploma in Fine Arts and currently studying for a degree in music.
