The rearrested Taraba State millionaire kidnap kingpin, Alhaji Hamisu Bala Wadume who was captured on Monday, August 19, after he was initially rescued by soldiers on August 6, has opened up to the police how the soldiers killed the operatives who arrested him and freed him.
The notorious kidnapper who spoke in Hausa in a 40-second video during his parade at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, narrated how the soldiers pursued the operatives of the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) who had earlier arrested him, opened fire on the team, killing three officers and two civilians before whisking him away to their base and later freed by an Army Captain who actually gave the order for the rescue.
Recall that Alhaji Hamisu Bala Wadume, a suspected high profile kidnapping suspect arrested by the police on August 6 and as he was being driven to Jalingo by the police team, a team of soldiers said to have been ordered by a Nigerian Army Captain, a friend of the suspect and one of his beneficiaries, accosted the police team and opened fire on them, killing three police officers and a civilian.
The murdered officers included Inspector Mark Ediale, Sergeants Usman Danzumi, Dahiru Musa, and an IRT agent, Olajide Owolabi.
Wadume who was declared wanted after his first arrest led to the murder of three operatives of the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team and a civilian agent by soldiers along the Ibi-Wukari road in the state, was rearrested a few days ago.
