I’m still APC acting national boss – Giadom tells INEC
Despite court order on Thursday, June 18, Victor Giadom is still unwilling to refrain from referring to himself as the All Progressives Congress (APC)‘s acting national chairman.
In a letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Giadom stated that his authority as the acting national chairman of the ruling party was confirmed by an order of a high court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
He, therefore, called on INEC to forward all documents and correspondences related to the conduct of the forthcoming election to him.
Gathered from various media reports, Giadom’s bid to become the acting national chairman of the APC had met with a roadblock as the National Working Committee of the party declared the seat of the deputy national secretary of the party vacant.
The NWC took the decision because Giadom has ceased to be an officer of the party since 2018.
The party said Giadom had resigned in 2018 to serve as the deputy governorship candidate of the APC in Rivers state and he returned to office at the National Secretariat without a fresh nomination by the South-South Zone of the party.
However the South-South Zone of APC has not replaced Giadom nor nominated a new candidate for the office.
