At exactly 04.38am Nigeria time, President Muhammadu Buhari was declared winner of the 2019 presidential election, in his bid for a second term re-election process, that was held on Saturday 23rd February 2019, by the Returning Officer, Professor Mahmoud Yakubu at the ICC, INEC Collation Center, Abuja. After the initial postponing of the Presidential elections on the 16th of February, 2019.
After series of adjournment to collate, announce and declare results, the exercise was eventually concluded and declared closed, at exactly 04.41am, by Professor Mahmoud Yakubu, the INEC Chairman.
Total Votes among the two major opponents are as thus: President Muhammadu Buhari 15,191,847, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar 11,262,978, for the Presidential elections.
The election process continues on the 9th of March 2019, with the Governorship and state assembly candidates.
