Inter join the race to sign Christian Eriksen
Serie A side eye January bid for Spurs star. Inter are ready to compete with Manchester United for the signing of Tottenham star Christian Eriksen, The Express claims.
The Denmark international has been heavily linked with a move to United and Real Madrid, but Spurs are trying to convince him to sign a new contract before his expires at the end of the season.
United are expected to return for him in January, but they may have to outbid the Italian club.
According to Express, ‘Inter may try to trigger a loan move, with Tottenham to receive a fee for letting him go, with a view to a permanent deal at the end of the season.’
Speaking on his failed summer move, Christian Eriksen believes he has done no wrong in pushing for a transfer. And from the looks of things, it’s still an option the midfielder is willing to explore one more time, when his contract expires in June.
“No it wasn’t wrong (to push) but it is football and you never know what happens and many things always come into play.” Eriksen said.
“I wish I could decide just as in the Football Manager game, but unfortunately I can’t.
“I have been involved for many years, where there have been many rumours every year. But it’s clear that it’s been a little more violent this year because my contract is about to expire.
“I know a lot of people are interested in where to play. That’s the way it is. This is how it is in a top club if you have done well. There will always be rumours.”
