Jurgen Klopp Names Two Most Improved Manchester United Players Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Jurgen Klopp has pinpointed two Manchester United players he needs to worry about on Sunday for their clash with Liverpool because of the players’ improvement since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took control at Old Trafford.

Manchester United vs Liverpool has always been a massive rivalry but the two games between the two clubs in this season’s Premier League could have as much impact as any of the matches the two sides have taken part in.
Back in December, which now feels like a hell of a long time ago, Liverpool’s 3-1 win over their rivals at Anfield continued their excellent run at the top of the league and resulted in Jose Mourinho’s sacking.

Just over two months later and, with the sides set to meet at Old Trafford on Sunday, things have changed for both teams. Liverpool had a minor blip that saw them slip behind Manchester City whilst Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reign has transformed United into a side that plays good football and generally wins.

United’s only loss since the defeat to Liverpool was the loss to PSG in the Champions League and with the side totally unrecognisable from December they pose a genuine threat to the Reds’ title hopes.

“You never know in the beginning, that’s how it is when a new manager comes in. There’s a lot of things, maybe relief for players, for a few players of course because always when a manager has to go, a few players didn’t feel as they should maybe.

“But now, after nearly three months or so, it’s outstanding. I think Ander Herrera is in the best period of his life, it’s unbelievable how he’s playing, Pogba is Pogba again. The work-rate of the strikers is unbelievable. They always had the speed but now they’re using it in the right moments.”

Asked if he was surprised by Solskjaer’s impact the former Borussia Dortmund boss added, “I’m a manager by myself and I know we are not magicians.

“It’s not like we come in and say ‘you are not good but I can make you really good’, so it’s like we are blessed with really good players around us.

“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is doing a brilliant job, it’s all about bringing out the potential, improving the quality and that’s what he obviously did and that makes him a manager for a top club and that’s how it is. I’m not surprised by that.”

Can United derail Liverpool’s title bid on Sunday?
