Nelson Freitas is a singer, writer, producer and also the owner of his own music label called Nelson Freitas Music.

His artistic journey started when he became the front man of the infamous group “Quatro”. After recording three albums with the group, Nelson Freitas, embarked on a solo career, releasing his first album.

 

 

Nelson Freitas is from Cape Verde and he has passion for Hip Hop, R&B and house music. He took the challenge to blend all these different styles into one album “Magic”. The album sold over 70,000 copies, which launched the solo career of Nelson Freitas.

After touring for 2 years and looking forward to greater years ahead. Nelson Freitas, dropped his second album “My Life” in 2010, with hit songs like “rebound chick” “saia branka” “nha primere armor”. The album sold over 90,000 copies and many critics wasted no time in believing in him.

Nelson Freitas third album, “Elevate” which was produced with a lot of creative input and even more on his experience with several hit songs saw him collaborating with several other artistes and producers from different countries like Angola, Congo, Holland Morocco.

Nelson Freitas from Cape Verde is surely a versatile artiste who paid his dues to be reckoned with as one of the best in Africa. Will he be capable of winning the Best Male Artiste in West Africa at the Kora Awards 2016? Let’s know your view Africa.
