Man, Unending desires for knowledge
Quests for knowledge dated back to creation of man. According to religious and history books, man is known to seek for knowledge to solve his problems (which were actually feeding, clothing and accommodation).
Knowledge, according to Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary and Thesaurus is the “fact or condition of knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association”.
However, as time progressed man began to find ways through technology to make life comfortable either by experiments (mostly) or accidentally (rarely). These ideas have been passed through generations till now.
Increase in knowledge has brought about an evitable increase of man’s problems. As man probes deeper in solving problems the more he finds out there is still more to do.
Example of this, the issue of children death rate, that has been reduced drastically which also leads to increase in population, and this increase in population causes competition (fight for basic resources) where the lucky and strong one survives
With the invention of the internet, ideas (information) can move across the globe in just a few minutes. Despite all the knowledge acquired, man has not been able to solve all his problems.
Talking about the reality, since man started learning he cannot stop until he dies. Can we then say that we should not seek for knowledge? No, we’ve started it and can’t stop it now.
