Paul Pogba Calls Out Manchester United Teammates For Everton Horror Show
Paul Pogba gave a frank assessment of Manchester United’s dismal performance in the 4-0 humbling at Goodison Park on Sunday, branding it “disrespectful to the badge”.
Goals from Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Lucas Digne and Theo Walcott put United to the sword and inflicted another away defeat for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side
It was a dire display devoid of anything positive for United and Pogba did not pull any punches when discussing the manner of the defeat.
“It is not good enough. Losing a game is bad and we don’t it in the race for the top four,” Pogba said in an interview with Sky Sports.
“Losing 4-0 as well, I am not disrespecting Everton, but the way we played and the performance of myself and the team and everyone was disrespectful.
“We did not respect ourselves, the club and the fans. When you wear this shirt and play for this club it is because you deserve it, and when you deserve it you have to respect the culture.
“With the history of this club, you have give everything.
“I don’t want to be harsh with my words but the body language of the players was not good enough for the shirt.”
The World Cup winner was one of many players below-par on Merseyside and felt the need to apologise to the club’s supporters on behalf of the squad.
“I don’t know if it’s enough but the only way to apologise is to give everything,” Pogba added.
“We can lose, but we have to give everything. That is how we should apologise to the fans. We cannot perform like we did.
“It is not good for us, for Manchester United, for the story of the club, for the fans – it is not good.”
