“Remember please and thank you because they are the magic words, if you want nice things to happen they are the words that should be used/heard, remember please and thank you because they are the magic words, use them in the morning, at noon and at night because it’s a great way to be polite, please and thank you are the magic words”
The modern day dictionary defines politeness as a behaviour that is respected and comsiderate of other people. I say it is the ability to tolerate each other without any form of utmost disrespect, why? Because we are all equals, we are human beings who do not have two heads, what then is the essence of being disrespectful and not polite?
It should be a natural defined phenomenon too and not just cultural. Since what is termed “polite” in some people’s culture may be vice versa in other cultures or basically eccentric. How does one show politeness?
Smile when necessary: This comes in situations where you as an individual would have to introduce yourself, or being a front desk worker, first impression matters and being polite is a major link to ones awesomeness.
Be friendly and helpful: The world is a rollercoaster; “what goes around, surely comes around some day” Be nice to the people you meet on your way up, because you may never have an idea of who you would meet on your way down. Help the senior citizen when you can, be friendly to the meek and be caring always.
Good manners: Exhibit this always because it is a genuine trait of a polite person. In every situation, don’t be ill-mannered, say thank you always, always portray the habit of a gentle minded person and stay nice.
Tolerance: This, just like in physics is when your elastic limit can’t be reached. Once you exhibit this great quality, the world would be gushing all over you. Do it adequately and be rewarded by the good forces of nature always.
Help others if they are in need: Whether it’s a senior citizen in need, or your mother tired of of working, show willingness and if someone turns down your good gesture, kindly smile and walk away politely.
