Reasons why SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 7 beats Iphone 7 Plus

The Galaxy Note 7 was released to great reviews but a lot of trouble. If you didn’t already know, Samsung issued a recall after some Galaxy Note 7 batteries blew up. Now, there are (possibly false) claims that replacement Note 7 devices are overheating.

“We would like to reassure everyone that new Note 7 phones are operating properly and pose no safety concerns. In normal conditions, all smartphones may experience temperature fluctuations,” Samsung said in a statement to USA Today on Thursday.

The Galaxy Note 7 replacement units have been well-received by actual customers, but not the mainstream media.

Those who actually own a Galaxy Note 7 love their new smartphone. There are several reasons why the Note 7 may be a better phone for some than the iPhone 7 Plus. Here are five of them:

Battery Life

The battery life on the iPhone 7 Plus is excellent, but the same on the Galaxy Note 7 is outstanding. Watching two episodes of Dawson’s Creek on Hulu Plus reduced the iPhone 7 Plus battery life to 80 percent, while it reduced the battery on the Galaxy Note 7 to 85 percent. The battery also charges a lot faster on the Note 7. Then again, it was the “fast charging” feature of the Note 7 that caused some of the explosions.

Higher Resolution Screen

Even though the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus only has a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution screen (401 pixels per inch), it still looks very nice. But the 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 7 has a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution screen (518 pixels per inch) and the extra pixels are somewhat noticeable when you move the phone closer to your eyes. Samsung’s screen is made for virtual reality headsets, where the screen, which is used as a display, is right in front of your eyes. Both Apple and Samsung are rumored to increase the screen resolutions of their phones in 2017.

microSD Card Slot

These days, one can purchase a decent 64GB microSD card for about $20 and add far more movies, music, or other types of files to their Note 7. Apple has never allowed microSD cards for the iPhone. If you want more memory, you simply have to pay up for an iPhone with more storage. The days of cloud storage are making all of this less relevant, but it’s likely that cloud storage won’t reach its full potential for at least another three years.

S Pen Stylus

Don’t ever say a stylus for a smartphone is outdated. The type of styluses used on PDA devices and smartphones in the 1990s is certainly outdated, but the S Pen is in a completely different ball game. The S Pen allows you to take notes in your own handwriting just as a pen would. Just like a pen, the harder you press, the heavier the writing. Best of all, the Note 7 allows you to jot down notes even when your device is off. The S Pen is probably the biggest selling point for the Galaxy Note 7. Apple has its own writing device, the Apple Pencil, available for the iPad Pro. Perhaps the Apple Pencil will be compatible with the iPhone 8 in 2017.

Headphone Jack

There is still a lot of debate on whether or not Apple made the wrong decision by leaving off the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. While Bluetooth Wireless headphones finally offer good sound, the Note 7 doesn’t need an adapter; the headphone jack is built in. This makes it quite convenient when you still have wired headphones and want to use them right away.

Some are probably thinking that there are some things the iPhone 7 Plus does better than the Note 7, and they are correct. That will all be dealt with in another article. Do you own a Galaxy Note 7? If so, let us know what you think its biggest strength is in the comments section.
