“Who is scared of IPOB? I am going to Geneva” – Amaechi (Video)
The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has dared members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to try him for size as he is not scared of them one bit.
Amaechi was reacting to the recent attack on Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Germany by IPOB members and the threat that they will continue to harass Nigerian politicians whenever they travel abroad.
But Amaechi said he is not afraid of traveling abroad, neither is he afraid of the IPOB members and their leader, Nnamdi Kanu as he is going to Geneva very soon and that if they want, they can wait for him there. He also added that he has other functions scheduled for him abroad and that he will surely honour all of them.
In a chat with Legit.ng, Amaechi described the attack on Ekweremadu as completely wrong but insisted that the attack would not stop him from attending functions outside the country.
In the chat captured on video, the minister said:
“It’s wrong for anyone to attack a federal or even state government official; it’s completely wrong. What crime did he (Ekweremadu) commit? Did he cause the economy to go bad?”
Asked if politicians are now scared of traveling abroad, Amaechi insisted that that was not the case.
“What do you mean by that? Scared of who? I’m going to Geneva, let them come. You know there’s what they call self defense. Any place I have function to attend, I will.”
