Omotunde Monsurat Ogundimu, is a well known Nollywood actress, who has featured in several Nigerian Yoruba language movies. She was recently, a guest at the social media forum, “Apping With Your Celebrity” session, hosted by UK based entertainment and event consultant, Sophie Fey.

During the session, Omotunde Ogundimu who prefers to be called “Apinke”, revealed acting is an inbuilt choice for her, since her primary school days, after which she discovered her style of cracking jokes. As well, Omotunde Ogundimu loves reading a lot. While she was in the secondary school, Ogundimu was the Chief Editor, for her secondary school magazine and casts news on the school assembly on Fridays.

Omotunde Ogundimu also revealed, she got into acting through popular gospel music artiste, Tope Alabi who lived in her neighbourhood back then and was close to her boss, the late Prince Muhydeen Alade Aromire at the time.

Though she got to fame, after taking part in the movie, “Nkan Obinrin” produced by late Alade Aromire, about twenty five years ago.

Though Omotunde Ogundimu has recently not been featuring in movies, she informed it has been mainly due to the peanuts, actors get paid. As she informed, she has three grown up kids to look after. Hence, her not being seen regularly in movies, lately.

This we gathered at NaijaOnlineTV, prompted a blogger to write that she was dead, in 2016. A rumour she debunked, through her social media account, informing her fans and followers to disregard the misinformation.

However, things has not been rosy for the gifted actress, who had to sell her car, after her husband’s demise five years ago and had since been using public transport and notwithstanding, Ogundimu has been without scandals in the movie industry, staying on a low key.

Omotunde Ogundimu who charges #150,000 upward, depending on how many roles she has to play, in a movie. Further revealed, she has written and produced three Nollywood movies, one of which is “Temidun”.
