Saving money on a tight budget
Everyone is a boss of him/herself when it comes to money, especially if you work and get paid. Why then wouldn’t you spend? I mean it’s all yours to spend. But not foolishly, rather wisely, like a tamed beast.
Trust me you’d go a long way saving on a tight schedule. It may seem difficult but you just have to let that economics in you bring out the best of the Economist you are.
These four ways below would help you go a long way, they are basic and necessary:
•Sell Things You Don’t Need:
You know the saying, “One person’s junk is another person’s treasure”, right? Well, there is a really good chance that if you look around your house a bit, you’ll be able to find some things you are no longer using that you could sell and even make extra cash for your benefit. Put these items up for sale and in no time it’d be a positive trend.
•Define Wants Versus Needs:
A scale of preference is required to keep this legit. Trust me, if you are going to have everything, you would have nothing eventually. A scale of preference helps you lists the things you need and by making them priorities, you wouldn’t have to be so ignorant anymore and when you really need certain items you can’t afford, applying what brings about “alternative for gone” helps to put you in check.
•Remember Small Savings Matter:
It’s so easy to think that spending an extra Naira or Dollar simply because it’s of a smaller denomination for a piece of candy or a pack of cigarettes isn’t that big of a deal. But think about it this way, saving the little for the rainy days actually is of importance.
•Look for part time Jobs or legitimate hustles:
Sometimes it can feel hard to even know where to start looking for income earning opportunities, especially if you are already working a full time job or are a stay at home mom taking care of your kids all day. But once you put commitment and dedication into it and remember always that you have to have an alternative source of income, it won’t be so hard for you to actually hustle, that’s if you take life seriously.
