Spice Girls to go on ‘final’ 25th anniversary tour
The Spice Girls will reportedly embark on a massive world tour in 2021 to celebrate the group’s 25th anniversary.
Four out of five of the band’s members – Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner – are said to be planning on performing across Europe, America and Australia.
However, original member Victoria Beckham, who did not take part in the 2019 reunion, is said to not be involved.
Sources close to Mel C have told The Sun that she reportedly spilled the details about their anniversary plans to close friends, with the girls said to be having discussions about potential concerts over WhatsApp and Zoom.
‘It’s going to be a huge year and the girls are excited,’ one source told the publication. ‘After all the coronavirus problems, there really needs to be something to look forward to and they want to take over 2021 with a tour.’
A further insider added that this could be the last time that the group will perform together again as ‘they are approaching 50, so they want to get out while they still look great for the fans’.
The girls were all said to be inspired by the mammoth success of their Spice World Tour last year, where they performed to tens of thousands of fans across the UK and Ireland, selling 700,000 tickets.
It comes after Emma – aka Baby Spice – previously revealed back in April that she is constantly in touch with her Spice Girls bandmates – and she would also be up for a reunion concert over Zoom.
She said: ‘We would love to do some. It’s something that we talk about and we get together every couple of weeks.
‘Well, not together but on the phone, FaceTime and stuff. We chat about our future projects.’
And when asked whether or not Victoria would rejoin if they ever hit the road again, the 44-year-old said:
‘Last year we did the four of us obviously. We were confident as a four and did massive stadiums and it was a real success.
