SYSTEMATIC EROSION OF OUR CULTURE & TRADITION BY THE ASIANS

Dear Colleagues in entertainment, Custodian of culture and tradition, our Royal kings, noble Chiefs, fellow Nigerians and our media friends, our attention has been drawn to a clear and present danger facing us all via plot to totally eradicate us from the surface of the earth by way of technologically suppressing our language thereby endangering our culture thus en slaving us all right in our country, on our lands.

Why would Startimes – a cable station with almost 70% share in our national television station NTA be so bold to want to import their movies, dramas, soap operas, running into thousands upon thousands into our country already lip sync into our local languages, most especially the three major languages Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo with the support of some unscrupulous elements who will readily mortgage their conscience for morsel of garri – cassava flakes. These are the new enemies within us now.

Now let’s ask ourselves this questions¬†SYSTEMATIC EROSION OF OUR CULTURE & TRADITION BY THE ASIANS

*Can this sort of action be taken in China, Japan or India.

*Can the Indian, Chinese or Japanese broadcasting corporation allow our films, movies air on their cable channels. Not to talk of embarking on a mass attack on their language and culture without due consultation with stake holders in their industry.

*Can any Nigerian entertainment company have a cable channel in China, Japan or India without a proper documentation. And even with all documents intact would these countries allow such idea materialize.

The time is now and not later that we stand up against any form of external terrorism through language and cultural erosion by these foreign owned TV or cable stations. Or we stand to loose our existence as a people and as a nation.

*Our film industry will suffer massive job loss.
*Our industry will suffer massive cultural infiltration from foreign land.
*Our local channels will suffer massive loss of patronage thereby killing creativity.
*Our film industry will suffer a massive loss of revenue due to dearth of investors.
*Our film industry practitioners will loose their jobs due to the massive loss of investors.

It is therefore our collective concern to come together to tell Startimes and it’s like they should leave Nigeria entertainment industry alone.

To voice out our stand on this unholy and shrewd business idea a press conference tagged “CONFERENCE OF INDIGENOUS LANGUAGE FILM PRACTITIONERS” will come up on the 14th of December 2016

Time :10am

Venue: Ltv8, Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi. Lagos

Please be there!!!

Signed.
