Team Nigeria UK scheduled Lagos Matches moved to Abuja

Information reaching us from the camp of Team Nigeria (UK) International, Nigeria’s official sporting team in diaspora, has it that there is a change of plan towards their grassroots sports development initiative in Nigeria tagged earlier as Lagos Showdown 2016.

Report has it that the Nigeria Football Federation had opened up to the team, that they won’t be able to present the Flying Eagle in Lagos, due to a few hitches the body is experiencing at the moment.

Thereby suggesting that the international match be played in Abuja at the Goal Project, on the 1st of August of 2016.

The Nigeria Football Federation, had also made available the Golden Eaglets for an encounter against the Team Nigeria (UK) International football squad ahead of the Abuja Showdown.Flying Eagles of Nigeria, Team Nigeria UK,

Interestingly the Under-17 football team of Lagos state are still available to engage the Team Nigeria UK Under-17 team in an international friendly football match in Abuja, with the full support of the Lagos state government.

Ace sport journalist and broadcaster Mr. Godwin Dudu-Orumen’s Cowbell Academy are no longer available for their earlier scheduled match due to the latest development.

It would be recalled that crisis erupted within the NFF, when Giwa Fc owner Ambassador Chris Giwa got a court order sacking the present President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mr. Amaju Pinnick, nullifying his election as the football body’s helmsman.

Ever since, entry to the glass house office of the NFF in Abuja had been restricted till further notice.

According to the director of Team Nigeria (UK) International, Mr. David Doherty, all other activities of the organization still remain as scheduled, which include open trials in Owerri and Abuja plus a scheduled visit to the Lagos state governor, His Excellency Akinwunmi Ambode and the Lagos state commissioner for sports, Hon. Deji Tinubu respectively.

The team is however soliciting for support, sponsorship and partnership from able individuals and companies that are willing to give back to the society.

To sponsor, support or partner with the team on this laudable grassroots sport development initiative or to be a volunteer with the team, you can get in touch on +44 0207 101 4468 or Email teamnigeriauk@groupmail.com
