Following the killing of three of its officers by soldiers along the Ibi-Wukari road in Taraba State, an investigative panel set up by the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), has visited the scene of the crime.
The police team led by DCP Abba Kyari, visited the scene as part of their investigation into the incidence which led to the murder of the officers said to be some of the finest in the Inspector General of Police Intelligence team.
The police had, in a press statement by its spokesman, Frank Mba, accused the Nigerian Army of shielding a millionaire kidnapping suspect identified as Alhaji Hamisu Bala Wadume who was arrested by the operatives before the incident that led to their murder and the subsequent escape of the suspect.
According to the press release, men of the Nigerian Army treated Wadume as a kidnap victim instead of a suspect.
The statement further asked the Army to tell the public the whereabouts of the alleged kidnapper rescued by the soldiers, wondering how a suspect who was handcuffed could escape from the soldiers.
