Thieves steal £1 million worth of sex toys in a parked lorry
A huge shipment of sex toys has been stolen from the back of a lorry.
More than £1,000,000 worth of high grade sex-gear was plundered from the vehicle during the daring raid last month.
The hefty stash was destined for Rocks Off sex shop in Kettering, Northamptonshire, but only made it as far as the A43 lay-by between the A14 and Broughton Village.
It is believed the HGV was plundered at some point between 1am and 6.30am on September 18.
Rocks Off Ltd, based in the appropriately-named Satisfaction House, markets itself as the UK’s leading sex toy manufacturer and designer.
The high profile theft comes amidst a boom for the the sex toy industry.
According to Technavio, the sex toy industry is likely to grow by just shy of $10bn between 2019 and 2023.
This is not the first time sex toys have been targeted by thieves.
In April 2016 someone walked into the Pound Express in Saltcoats, North Ayrshire and emptied a box of ‘extra simulation vibrating rings’ into their pocket.
