Top Ten Naija Music Videos S1 E2

Top ten Naija Music videos is dedicated to Nigerian music industry, specifically appraising trending videos online for: Video Quality, Message, Delivery (Translation of the song in question), YouTube deep statistics which shows shares, views, comments etc. Top Ten Naija Music Videos is Naija Online TV’s original Web series and viewers can watch their favorite celebrity shine in reviews by our in house writers and music experts. Viewers can also comment/share their views, nominate other videos for consideration in coming week’s list.

Please note: Although we try our best to be fair and cut across all genres, class of artistes from A-list to upcoming, we cannot possibly list every video for a shortlist of 10 videos, so feel free to drop your preferred list in the comment section and our panel would look into it and consider it for future lists. Also worthy to note, as part of our goal to support upcoming, hardworking artistes, at least a spot is reserved for an upcoming artiste each week.

The maiden edition which debuted on the 08|04|2016 sees Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Flavour, Wande Coal and much more.

We also would be introducing a sub-section tagged: New Video of the week after each week’s edition. Sit back, relax and enjoy!

Reekado Banks | Oluwa Ni (New Entry)

New entry, Reekado Banks of Mavin Records, Hip Hop Awards controversial Next Rated award winner early this year, makes the list of most promising videos online as compiled by Check Republic on Naija Online TV.

This video which seems to be given gratitude to God, Don Jazzy and in a way his Mum, is a very catchy tune. Some of our viewers who asked us why it was not on the list last week, here it is.

Please note as confirmed in our statement on debut, this list is striclty compiled by their success online generally not just how many views they have. For further details, please see the Debut list here: Top Ten Naija Music Videos S1 E1.

Emma Nyra | For My Matter Remix ft. Patoranking

Remaining at No. 9 this week is this awesome video by Emmy Nyra.

Excerpts from last week:

The award winning diva Emma Nyra teamed up with with VP Record’s own Patoranking, and the sensational hit-man producer DJ Coublon, to a remix to her smash hit, For My Matter. With the song already being a ladies afrobeat anthem, it was only right to follow up with the star-studded remix.

The high energy afrobeat tune paired with Pato’s signature style took this song to ‘Another level.’

Video Directed by Garth Von Glehn

Enjoy !!!

Darey | Asiko Laiye Remix ft. Olamide

Last week this video had 108,982 views and on the No. 8 spot, since then, its climbed up to about 129,551 as at the time of this post. Although it hasn’t gained much in terms of shares, Asiko Laiye by Dare ft Olamide seems to be doing just fine online.

Excerpts from last week:

An entirely different path from sexual and classy Darey style, this video which features Olamide comes down to the levels of the trend of Naija Music right now and although I won’t necessarily tag it commercial, I stay blasting it while cruise around. Lol.

Darey remains a vital player in the industry and this video shows how much versatile he can be. Watch the Asiko version featuring Jozi, Ice Prince to see the real Darey style we know.

Published 7th of March, it has over 100k plus views but with this tune and the video…Farabale and enjoy jor!

The highly anticipated Clarence Peters directed video shot at various locations in Lagos is definitely set to take the tune which has already began to own radio stations all over the country.

Flavour | DANCE

Flavour remains unshaken on our list, and although improved in Views, shares and YouTube stats, it is currently finding it hard to knock Olamide and Tiwa Savage off the charts. Good news though, it has not fallen off the wagon as it holds on to its No 3 spot.

Excerpts from last week:

If you think you have seen the best of Clarence Peters, you probably just kidding so I would leave it at that, lol. What do you do with a consitent and a mega-super-entertainer like Flavour’s new Jam as a A-rated Music Video director?

You make it epic!

Love the video, the colours of the set, the splash effects and general video transitions. Well done Clarence once again.

Olamide | Abule Sowo

With over 150,000 additional views since last week’s Top Ten Naija Music Videos online’s debut, this masterpiece from the King of Streetz Music, Olamide remains at No 1.

Excerpts from last week:

Baddoo, the musically confidence of coughing out hits after hits like he just goes under his pillow to pick up ideas and lyrics releases this video.

Just a week after dropping the single to mark his adding another year to his age, king of the street, Olamide, drops the official visual to the hitmaker “Abule Sowo”.

Taking it back to the roots with costume, location and not forgetting to mention the song in itself, this is just another dope creation from Olamide.
