Tory Lanez officially charged with shooting Megan Thee Stallion
Tory Lanez has been officially charged with the shooting of rapper Megan Thee Stallion, during an argument that transpired back in July.
Lanez is due to be arraigned next week on two felony charges that will be brought by the Los Angeles prosecutor’s office.
The two felony charges are assault with a firearm and carrying an unregistered and loaded firearm in a vehicle. The complaint states Lanez “inflicted great bodily injury” on Megan Thee Stallion once she had exited an SUV.
If he does get convicted, he will be faced with a maximum sentence of about 23 years. He was arrested on the night the shooting occurred but released subsequent to posting bail. Megan Thee Stallion, whose legal name is Megan Pete, is identified as Megan P in the case.
Initially, she had declined to point the finger at Lanez but later posted an Instagram video that Tory had shot her and indicated that had caused the incident and asked for him to stop lying about it.
