When Reality Dawns; The Sorry Story Of Stella Gilbert
This is not a riot scene. No, it is not.
It is a rather pitiful scene where death is staring at a middle aged lady, 36 years old Stella Gilbert, a resident of Ajegunle, Lagos State, and was crying to be given a second chance, which of course may never be.
Stella, in the picture, is being dragged out of the court room after a ruling by the Ikeja High Court sentencing her to death allegedly for stabbing to death a namesake and co-resident, Stella Godwin, during an argument over who should take possession of a sitting bench left behind by a neighbour who had moved from their place to a new apartment.
Stella Gilbert, said to be very temperamental in nature and quick to pick a fight, never envisaged her action could earn her death sentence after much plea to the judge.
Unfortunately, she was not spared.
Isn’t it wise to act a fool sometimes even when provoked?
